Maureen P. “Molly” (Brophy) Donovan, age 79, of Brockton, died February 16, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Stoughton following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John P. Donovan. Maureen was born in Brockton and raised in Easton, daughter of the late Dennis and Kathleen (Walsh) Brophy. She had been a resident of Brockton for over 50 years and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, class of 1950; a longtime communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater. She worked for various local businesses in Brockton and for over 20 years had been employed by the Law Offices of Bernard Cohen. Maureen enjoyed time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren, trips to the casinos, and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed time spent at her summer cottage in Onset, relaxing with family and friends, fishing and shellfishing.

Maureen is survived by her children Timothy P. Donovan and his wife Danielle of Berkley, Tara Donovan of Bridgewater, Ty Donovan and his partner Jack Veiga of Plymouth and Ted Donovan and his wife Katie of Raynham; seven grandchildren Brian, Erin and Andrew Cohoon; Jonathan Donovan, Davon Veiga-Donovan; and Ashley and Shane Donovan and many, many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8pm. A Funeral Procession will form at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8am for a funeral mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater at 9am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15am. Evelyn U. (DeMinico) Fardie, age 88, of North Easton, died April 16, 2012 at Kindred Hospital, Stoughton, following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late William C. Fardie, Sr. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Julia (DiGregorio) DeMinico. Evelyn was raised in Jamaica Plain, graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School and had been a longtime resident of Brockton until moving to Easton in 1993. For several years, she had been employed in her family’s business, DiGregorio and Cassis in South Boston and later went to work at Garland Mills in Brockton. Evelyn enjoyed knitting, cooking and bowling.
She is survived by two sons, William C. Faradie, Jr. and his wife Noreen of North Easton, and Robert A. Faradie and his wife Donna of South Easton; seven grandsons Billy of Norton, Michael J. of West Hollywood, CA and North Easton, James of South Easton, Anthony of Malden, Joey of Brighton, Mikey of Brockton and Dana Faradie of Hopkinton. She is also survived by a niece Judy Orphanos Grubbs of Middleboro and her dear sisters in law Alice Cameron and Marie Orphanos both of Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late Emanuella “Ella” Orphanos and grandmother of the late Angela D. Faradie.

(Gregg) Barry wife of Bill Barry died at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her family after a long battle with a lung disease at the age of 60. Born in Manhattan, Kansas, Patricia was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Lorraine (Sears) Gregg. Patricia was a graduate of Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School class of 1970. She was employed at Bridgewater Raynham School District in the business office as a secretary for over the last ten years. Patricia was an avid ball room dancer and danced for the team Dream Team also she enjoyed cooking, crocheting and traveling to Aruba with her husband. Patricia was the sister of Donald Gregg and his wife Betty of Taunton, Carol Amaral of East Bridgewater, Kathleen Peabody and her husband Alan of Raynham and the late Susan Madigan. She was the Aunt of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Thursday, June 21st from 4-7 PM. Gary T. Osborne age 60, of North Easton, died Saturday June 23, 2012 at his home under the care of his loving family after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Gerry (McLaughlin) Osborne and the cherished father of Taryn and Gary. Gary was born in Meriden, Conn. A son of the late Willard and Irene (Wrobel) Osborne, he was raised in Brockton and resided in North Easton for the past fifteen years. A 1969 graduate of Brockton High School, Gary had also received his BS degree from Stonehill College.
Gary was a Director with Rogers Corp. in Rogers, Conn. Previously he had been Vice-President of Compensation and Benefits for over 25 years at Talbots in Hingham and had also worked at TJX Corp. and Bay State Gas.
Gary will be remembered as a gentle, quiet and easy going man who was thoughtful, intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. Gary’s true joy in life was his loving wife Gerry and their two children. He loved his family and his time spent with his wide circle of friends. He always had a warm and welcoming manner and would be helpful to anyone. His home was a bustling center for summer fun, relaxation, and laughter.
Gary thoroughly enjoyed boating and scuba diving. He was a member of the South Shore Neptune Dive Club and Quincy Yacht Club.
In addition to his wife Gerry, he is survived by his children Taryn B. Beuttler and her husband Andrew of Quincy and Gary T. Osborne, Jr. of Easton. He was the brother of Wayne A. Osborne and his wife Paula of Derry, NH and Cindy I. Kearney and her husband Bill of Brockton. He was the son-in-law of Phyllis McLaughlin and the late James D. McLaughlin of Easton and brother-in-law of Jim McLaughlin and his wife Patricia of N. Attleboro, Claire Cronin and her husband Ray of Easton, Joan Burke and her husband Dave of Easton and Hugh McLaughlin and his wife Breffni of Easton. Gary also leaves fifteen nieces and nephews, six godchildren and many friends. He will be missed.

Ronald A. Cormier, age 79, of Wareham, formerly of Brockton, died Saturday July 21, 2012 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. He was the devoted husband for 55 years of the late Shirley M. (Pezzano) Cormier who died earlier this year. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Edward and Gladys (David) Cormier. Ronald was a 1951 graduate of Brockton High School and also earned degrees from the Industrial Tech School in Boston and Massasoit Community College. During the Korean War he served with the US Army and received the Korean Service medal.

Ronald had been a firefighter with the City of Brockton for 27 years, retiring in 1988 as a captain at the Campello station. He and his wife Shirley moved to Wareham 25 years ago and enjoyed wintering in Deerfield Beach, FL for many years. Ronald was a member of the Wareham Elks, enjoyed boating and his summer house but most importantly time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ronald was the father of Craig Cormier and his wife Tracey of South Easton, Lori J. McSharry and her companion Paul Warsheski of Whitman, Jay Cormier and his wife Donna of Brockton and the late Ronald E. Cormier, Jr. He leaves five grandchildren Shane, Samantha, Christopher and Patrick Cormier and Gina McSharry. He was the brother of Ethel May Grande of Florida, Lucille Stetson of Avon and the late Walter and Kenneth Cormier and Rita Piantoni. He leaves a daughter-in-law of Karen Cormier of West Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.

Frederick James Hodnett, age 81, of New Orleans, formerly of Brockton, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He was predeceased by his first wife Rose (Michas) Hodnett of Brockton.

Born in New Brunswick, Canada and raised in Taunton, MA he was the son of the late Mary T. (Leonard) & Ernest Hodnett. Frederick was a graduate of Coyle Cassidy High School and earned his CAGS with honors from Fitchburg State College. During the Korean War he served with the US Navy.

Frederick was a chief draftsman at Pratt Whitney Aircraft and Barry Controls for 20 years and then an industrial arts teacher at Brockton High School until his retirement. For many years he was president of the West Side Improvement Association in Brockton, an active member of the Barbershoppers in both Brockton and New Orleans and a member of the MENSA Society. He was a devout parishoner at Our Lady of Lourdes in Brockton and the Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Orleans where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector.

He lived in New Orleans for the last 15 years with wife Janet and spent summers in South Easton, MA with family. He enjoyed singing, reading, doing crossword puzzles, cheering on Boston sports teams, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Fuller) Hodnett of New Orleans and three children Rosemary Brewster & husband Ben of New Hampshire, Carol Sargent & husband Richard of Taunton, MA, Paul Hodnett & wife Mary of New York.. He leaves six grandchildren Benjamin and Kyle Brewster, and Rachel, Bethany, Aubrey and Eric Hodnett. He was the brother of Joan Simas of Wareham, MA.

Visiting hours will be held at Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 4-7 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 8 am followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial will held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. NORTH EASTON: Mary M. (Teixeira) LeRoy, 87, died peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2012 following a period of declining health at the Wayland Nursing and Rehab Center in Wayland.
Mary was born in Easton on November 24, 1924 the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Frances (Silva) Teixeira.
Mary had been a lifelong resident of North Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School with the Class of 1943. In her earlier years, she was associated with the Ames Baldwin Wyoming Co. until they moved to West Virginia in 1954. She retired after a long and distinguished career of 32 years as the Treasurer of the North Easton Savings Bank. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She was the wife of the late Francis E. LeRoy and in survived by many nieces and nephews including Grace and Richard Ramsey of Natick.

At the request of Mary’s family, there will be no funeral home visiting hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 193 Main Street, North Easton, Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests that memorial gifts in Mary’s memory may be sent to Immaculate Conception Parish.

Richard Paul Martel died peacefully after a sudden illness on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 with his loving family by his side. “Rich” was the loving husband of Elena (Capachione) Martel who survives him. They were married for 58 years. He was a wonderful father to his sons William and Michael of Brockton, MA, David and his wife Cydney of Brookline, MA and his daughter, Lisa and her partner Emily Benson of Ojai, CA. His dear son Richard, Jr. predeceased him in 1990. He was also the adoring grandfather to Sam, Ben and Jack Martel and Remi Martel Benson. In addition to his immediate family he is survived by his cousins Ann McCarthy Dedering of New York and Joan Martin Leotti of Brockton, MA. He leaves his wonderful sisters in laws, Yolanda Moore and Marie Princigalli.

Richard was born, raised and lived in Brockton, Mass. Residing for the last Sixteen years in Easton, Mass. He was the son of the late William C. and Louise H. (Noonan) Martel and was the devoted brother to the late Eleanor Celia and Francis Martel. Richard was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1945 and the Coyne Electrical School. He served in the United States Navy. He was employed at the Bay State Gas Company for 45 years. He served as treasurer of Local 273, Brockton Gas Workers Union.

He was an active member of his community and served on the City of Brockton Planning Board for 15 years. He loved Brockton! Mr. Martel was also a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton. Richard will be remembered by all for his deep devotion to his family and friends, his keen sense of humor, his gentle manner, his integrity and his sincere kindness. Richard Paul Martel lived a long and successful life and he will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Jean M. (Tullie) Condon, age 80, of Easton, died peacefully September 26, 2012, at Victoria Haven Nursing Facility following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James B. Condon. Born and raised in Brockton, Jean was one of two daughters of the late John and Martha (O’Rourke) Tullie. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1950 and Katharine Gibbs College. Jean had a zest for life and enjoyed travel, summers at Popponesett Beach, fine dining and shopping for just about everything, especially clothing.
She is survived by four sons, Gregory Condon and his wife Susan of Needham, Paul Condon of Avon, James Condon of Waltham and Christopher Condon and his wife Gail King of Dover as well as a daughter, Maria Flores of Brockton; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel Condon of Needham and Jorge, James Michael and Abigail Flores, all of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas and Joseph Tullie and Ann (Tullie) McInerney.

Phyllis V. (Lucey) McLaughlin, age 89 of Easton and formerly Brockton, died peacefully October 25, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Atty. James D. McLaughlin. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Nora (Corbett) Lucey. Phyllis was a member of the Brockton High School graduating class of 1941. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Bridgewater State College in 1945, and attended Boston College Law School, where she met her husband. For many years she was an elementary school teacher in Randolph and Avon, and was once named Teacher of the Year in Norfolk County. She was a member of the Randolph Teachers Association, the Avon Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association; she was also a member of the former Ruth Cleveland Club. Over the years Phyllis was active in city, state and national politics, and was a former member of the Brockton Democratic City Committee. Phyllis’s greatest love was spending time with her family; she was almost always seen in the company of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time at her two favorite places: Brant Rock and Cape Cod. Phyllis is survived by her children, Geraldine N. Osborne of North Easton, James H. McLaughlin and his wife Patricia of North Attleboro; Atty. Claire D. Cronin and her husband Ray of North Easton; Joan P. Burke and her husband David of North Easton; and Hugh J. McLaughlin and his wife Breffni of North Easton. She was the grandmother of Taryn Beuttler, Gary Osborne, Jr., Gregory, Brendan and Laura McLaughlin; Kara and Kerry Cronin, Jenna, Patrick and Jack Burke; and Conor, Darragh, Rory and Kate McLaughlin. She was the sister-in-law of Louise C. Lucey of Jewett City, CT, and Patricia O. Lucey of Orange, CT; cousin of William McCarthy and his wife Rose Marie of Taunton, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was the sister of the late Claire M. Lucey, Brockton Mayor C. Gerald Lucey, Bernice Noonan, Lorraine C. Mitchell and John C. Lucey; and mother-in-law of the late Gary T. Osborne. Dorothy L. (Loud) Bourne, age 91, of South Easton, died November 13, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Basil L. Bourne. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Herman H. and Florence (Smith) Loud. Dorothy and her late husband founded, developed and operated Bourne Transportation in Brockton for many years. After her retirement in 1987, she enjoyed winters in Florida and summers on Cape Cod. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and had been on a local bowling league in her earlier years. She also enjoyed playing cards with family, time with family and close friends, long rides, and was an avid shopper. Dorothy is survived by her children Robert L. Bourne and his wife Maureen of Naples, FL, Nancy A. Kovatis and her husband William of West Bridgewater and Calvin F. Bourne and his wife Deborah of Easton; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a sister Beverly Mackin of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Stuart and Donald Loud, Louise Williams, Arlene Graham and Hazel Morse. Arthur E. “Arty” Blaney age 66 of Holbrook formerly of Brockton, died Friday November 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the devoted husband for 44 years of Judith A. (Drew) Blaney. Arty was born and raised in Boston one of eleven children of Charles and Martha (Beck) Blaney. He had lived in Brockton for many years before moving to Holbrook 20 years ago. Arty had been a truck driver for many years with the Teamsters Union Local 82 in Boston. He had worked with PJ Casey & Son Movers for 27 years and retired from Cintas Shredding in 2010. In his free time he enjoyed reading, bowling and playing pool. Arty’s true joy in life was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children Cynthia Blaney and her partner Jodi Rampino of Brooksville, FL; Jason Blaney of Holbrook and Brian Blaney and his wife Kerri of Easton. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Michaela, Brandon, Benjamin and Aislynn and a great granddaughter Isabela. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Thursday 5-7 pm with a Funeral Service at 7 pm. D. Michael “Mike” Brophy age 68 of Easton, died Tuesday November 27, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband for 43 years of Judith M. (Lyons) Brophy. Born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Joseph and Helena (O’Connell) Brophy, Mike was a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School. Following High School he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a medical corpsman. For the past 27 years he had been a resident of Easton. Mike retired from the Town of Easton School Department after 20 years of service in the custodial department. Previously he had worked for many years at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. Mike lived a simple life but treasured his time spent with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, watching sports, the History Channel and spending time with friends at the Polish White Eagles in Brockton and Buddy’s Union Villa in Easton. Mike is also survived by his two daughters Teresa M. Brophy of Taunton and Robin L. Brophy of Michigan. He was the brother of Kevin Brophy of W. Bridgewater, John “Jack” Brophy of Randolph, Anne DeVito of Bridgewater, Richard Brophy of E. Bridgewater and the late Joseph and Timothy Brophy. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday 3-5pm followed by a Funeral Service at 5 pm. Burial will be at a later date. In Raynham, December 27, 2012 Ione “Bunny” Jones, age 86 passed away at her daughters home while surrounded by her loving family. Bunny was the wife of the late William Jones. She was born in Everett, MA., the daughter of the late William & Ione (Woods) Windgard. Bunny attended Everett schools and was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 1944. Bunny resided in North Easton and was formerly of Lakeville. She was employed as a waitress for the Village Steakhouse in South Weymouth and later worked for the Town of Easton schools. Bunny enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, being at the ocean and was a devoted mother and grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Bryer & her husband Jim of Raynham. Her grandchildren Holly Berg of Lakeville, Kelley Poliquin and husband Paul of Lakeville and great grandmother of Mikayla and Miranda Poliquin of Lakeville. Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church in Raynham Center on Sat., Jan. 5th at 10:30am. Burial will be in Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton.

Roger R. Sergio, age 73, of Brockton, died Wednesday January 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of 46 years of Marylou (Bergeron) Sergio. Roger, born in Brockton, was the son of the late Luigi and Pasqualina (Lembo) Sergio. He remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1957 graduate of Brockton High School Roger later attended Suffolk College. During the 1960s Roger served in the US Army and Army reserves. Roger found his passion for clothes at a young age and made a career in the clothing business. During high school he worked at Markey’s in Brockton. He later owned a store in Hingham called Otis Hall. He was the long time owner of Men-at-Large Clothing Store at Westgate Mall, which later moved to North Easton. His greatest pride was serving his customers, making them look great. He had been a member of the Massachusetts Business Federation. He had formerly worked as a staff assistant at the Massachusetts Bay United Fund. Roger served on the Brockton License Commission for several years. In his free time Roger enjoyed doing his own yard work. Taking care of his pool and preparing it for his family to enjoy was one of his favorite past times. As a devoted family man, father and grandfather, nothing gave him more enjoyment than attending the sporting and school events of his eight beloved grandchildren. Large family cookouts and Italian family dinners were special times in his home. He lovingly enjoyed his dogs Niki, Bergie and Keno. Roger will be remembered as a true family man, generous and kind. In addition to his wife Marylou, Roger leaves his children Amy Morse and her husband Dan of N. Easton; Justin Sergio of Marblehead, MA; Jennifer Marciano and her husband Stephen of Mansfield and Mandi Crump and her husband Brian of N. Attleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Jack, Griffin and Chad Morse; Olivia and Nicholas Marciano and Ashton, Carson and Brooklyn “Bella” Crump. He was the brother of Mary Hanney of Falmouth, Samuel Sergio of Bridgewater, Irene DeLalla of Abington, Richard Sergio of Falmouth and the late Angelina Rubicine, Joseph, Matthew “Gigi” , Anthony “Dinny”, Michael and Louis Sergio. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:45 am for a Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church 225 Purchase St. South Easton at 10 am. Burial in Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
